March: Freaky Folklore
Horrifying tales based on famous folk stories from around the world!
Folklore has brought us plenty of good time and even more great scares. From Wickerman and Midsommar to the VVitch and Krampus, tales from the olden days always find a great way to set the stage for horror.
In March we'll start in Olde Thime Deutschland for Hagasuzza, the tale of outcast young witch in the country. From there, we travel to what appears to be a run of the mill haunted house flick in Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. However, you know that Guillermo del Toro never produces anything run of the mill, so be on the lookout for the crazy origin tale of one of our most beloved spirits.
Third is La Llarona (no, not the bad one) - the famous story of the weeping woman. More famous than the Chupacabra all across all South America, this version of the classic is based on a mostly true story from the Guatamalan Civil war in the 80s.
Finally we close in Norway, with a terrifying Thale -- err, tale, set in the always spooky Norweigian woods. Good luck fellow phobophiles, and may you all live happily ever after!
